Valiant Entertainment which publishes such comics as Bloodshot (recently adapted to film), Shadowman and X-O Manowar, has announced via Twitter that they’re doing portfolio reviews for writers on September 10th and 11th.

The deadline to submit is September 3rd, which doesn’t leave you much time.

You’re required to submit up to twenty pages of comics, so this is for published writers only (but that does include self-published).

Which is brilliant. There are entry level talent hunts for new writers, but very few things to bridge the gap between them and starting a career.

They’ve already done one lot of artist portfolio reviews, so I advise following Valiant Entertainment on Twitter so you know when the next opportunity comes up.

Twenty writers will be picked for ten minute review sessions, presumably done over Zoom (as this is how the artist reviews were conducted).

Senior editors Heather Antos and Lysa Hawkins will be conducting the reviews.
